Agreement
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the HouseProof mobile app, website, and related services provided by Openverse (“HouseProof,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using HouseProof, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
What HouseProof does
HouseProof is a personal record, reminder, and export tool for home maintenance, assets, warranties, receipts, manuals, vendors, and related information. Features and free-plan limits may vary by platform and version.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- the accuracy and completeness of information you enter;
- reviewing tasks, warranty terms, dates, and reminders before relying on them;
- maintaining independent copies of important receipts, manuals, reports, and records;
- using qualified professionals when work requires appropriate training or licensing; and
- following manufacturer instructions, laws, building codes, and safety guidance.
Do not delay emergency assistance or necessary professional inspection because of information shown in HouseProof.
Local data and backups
Core HouseProof records are stored locally. Cloud backup and sync are not enabled in the current version. Deleting the app, clearing app storage, losing or damaging the device, or using delete controls may permanently remove data. You are responsible for exporting or otherwise backing up records you need to retain.
Pro purchases and subscriptions
HouseProof may offer paid Pro features through Google Play or Apple. Available plans, prices, billing periods, taxes, and renewal terms are shown before purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled through the applicable store before renewal. Store rules govern billing, refunds, cancellation, and payment disputes.
Restoring a purchase requires the same eligible store account and successful verification by the store and our entitlement provider. We may change paid features prospectively, but we will not knowingly charge a new price without the notice and consent required by the store and applicable law.
Acceptable use
You may not:
- use HouseProof unlawfully or to violate another person’s rights;
- attempt to bypass purchase gates, security controls, or usage limits;
- interfere with the service or introduce malicious code;
- reverse engineer the app except where applicable law expressly allows it; or
- use our name, branding, or content in a misleading way.
Your content
You retain ownership of records and files you create or import. You represent that you have the right to use and share them. Because core records stay on your device, you do not grant us a general license to those records. When you choose to send content to support, you permit us to use it only as reasonably needed to respond, secure the service, and meet legal obligations.
Our content and license
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use HouseProof for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms and the applicable app-store rules. HouseProof’s software, design, branding, and original content remain owned by us or our licensors.
No guarantees
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HouseProof is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free reminders, record recovery, property safety, code compliance, repair quality, contractor performance, warranty approval, claim approval, insurance coverage, resale value, or any particular financial outcome.
Maintenance templates and reminders are organizational aids, not professional advice. Conditions differ by property, product, climate, and jurisdiction.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, savings, coverage, claims, or property value arising from HouseProof. Where liability cannot be excluded, our aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid for HouseProof in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Your non-waivable consumer rights remain unaffected.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using HouseProof at any time. We may suspend access to online components when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, service integrity, or a serious violation of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
Changes
We may update HouseProof and these Terms. We will post revised Terms here and update the date above. If a material change requires consent, we will request it as required by law. Continued use after an effective update means you accept the revised Terms.
